On the Rebuilding New Orleans

Today is the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina hitting the Gulf Coast. Here is a “How To Build New Orleans” by Witold Rybczynski at Slate.com… Here’s the short piece I wrote about New Orleans back in January.

  1. Michael Bindner Says:

They could save the lower ninth if they dredge out the channel, clean the dredgings and build up the land level. The key is a creative solution to cleaning the channel bottom. The lower you make the river and the lake (with locks back to sea level) the safer the city is.
