    The article says that Utah tops the list, so perhaps it is family life rather than money that makes people happy…. The difference between $30k and $60k is minor, I would like to see them examine a much wider spread, then there might be some surprises.

    Richard: I’ve got a similar graph on the positive relationship between education and per-capita income. But what worries me are the states with above average educational attainment and below average income. They are: VT, UT, MT, OR, KS, NE, and GA.
    What ties those states together? Does anyone out there have any clues? I’m an education guy, not an economic development guy.
