I wonder who, on the panel in this video does not own their own house? In my experience it is often those who are most emphatic about a social ideal for others to follow, that do the exact opposite when it comes to their own lives….The truth is that home ownership, and the American way of financing a house has contributed to the success of countless families.
I don’t have time to watch the link yet, but even with a mortgage, who actually owns the home? Part of the recent financial fiasco was bad mortgage companies packaging a bunch of at-risk home loans and selling them to investors.
That home isn’t truly yours until you make the last payment on your mortgage. And when I do decide to take out a home loan, it will be with a bank or credit union that I know will not sell that loan to anybody else.
