I was born and raised in San Diego, I did live in LA off and on when I was a kid. My wife and I will get away from time to time and we stay in Orange County. LA is very tight on money as of right now so there are no projects going on to clean up the city. I think it's the 405 that go's right through Downtown with the painted murals. Back in the day they were very nice but now they are all tagged up with graffiti which makes it look like a war zone. LA is poor and until it get's it's budget in order it will continue to look ragged and run down in certain areas. One thing LA does provide is the fact that EVERY race and culture is represented in LA. You can find a good restaurant in any part of the city. There is always something to do and someone to see. Would I move too LA? NO! I would move too Orange County because it is a much nicer and safer place.

I've lived all over - 12 cities in 8 states actually - mostly the Southeast, Midwest, and briefly in the neurotic Northeast in Philadelphia. I was in NYC a lot on business and for fun. I love NYC but could never live there. It really is neurotic.

I'm so glad I moved to Orange County, L.A.'s sister county in 2007. Yes, people are mostly nice and it's sunny but I miss the change in seasons and rain - yeah, I know, weird, but I miss rain. It never rains here. People from here are notoriously fake - it's true. I miss the authenticity and kindness of people from the Midwest and South - those are good people.

I'm in my early 40s, single, male, and want to settle down but the price of real estate, even in this down economy, is still way over-priced in my opinion. We'll see where my life and career takes me next.
