Hi! I live in Henderson NV -the suburbs 10 min south of Las Vegas. I moved here 5 years ago and sell/lease commercial real estate. I really love local music/hiking/farmers’ markets/snowboarding/things like that and have found that this town is just not really offering too much of the things I love. Hiking-yes we have that but there is just no sense of community. I don’t have kids and living in the suburbs sucks if you don’t need to raise a family. I also don’t dig gambling or clubbing which makes Vegas the city pretty unappealing. I want to live in a city that is thriving. I’m also tired of hearing about how this economy sucks so bad! I think the economy is OK and my business is going well – however, I really miss the sense of locality that I felt in small-town Kentucky (minus the dreary gray weather). We are in a little bind right now with the housing situation which may prevent us from making a move anytime soon. Anyone have any advice on either how to make this town better OR where to move to once we get out of the bind?
