Michael, I believe the environment and sustainability are important issues for members of the creative class. I can speak from experience on this issue. The response from the creative class in my region (Western North Carolina)to a green economy project I am currently developing has been absolutely remarkable. The first step in my organization's plan is to complete an asset mapping project (AMP) for the green economy. I have people calling me constantly, wanting to volunteer. I have had people follow me out of restaurants or bars, requesting more information and verbalizing their enthusiasm. AMP has tapped into something which many, many people are passionate about- this has sparked their innate sense of innovation/entrepreneurialism/possibility. They will talk for hours about all things green. The creative energy is palpable.
