The chart is great; I like being able to draw it in closer. Sadly, my hometown, Beaumont, ranks in the bottom quartile.

After mentioning Portland in the intro I was surprised that it wasn’t on the charts. My understanding is that we’re in the top 5 or so for patents per person and also up there in creative class.
But the shocker was to see Modesto, CA high in the creative column. Modesto has been in the pits of every quality of life and economic list for a decade or more. Is this a transformation or an anomaly?
